Respect – that is no more
70x70x4 plus canvas

It is a composition of two pieces born from the same mother: the canvas with its frame.

The respect, painted according to the perception of synaesthesia, is eradicated from its location (the canvas), leaving the frame empty.

A synaesthetic work, therefore, but also conceptual and symbolic: we have lost respect for each other, for the environment and also for ourselves. The frenzy of a life based on possessions and the “not in my backyard” philosophy makes us forget that we are not the undisputed masters of the garden in which we live.

We are just guests on this planet and coexistence with others and with the Earth is not only necessary, but should be mandatory to lead to a collective and consequently private well-being.

Respect has been lost, but somewhere it’s still there.

It may perhaps be reconstructed, stitched up, it will not be the same as before but the scar left will help us to remember why it is important not to lose it again.
